Andrew Boss. 5" x 7 1/4" black and white photograph of Andrew Boss, "raised on a farm at Lake City, Minnesota; finished the 8th grade in a country school; attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota; spent his vacations as a farmhand at the University Farm. Was promoted to foreman, and Mrs. Boss boarded all the labor in the old farm house. Began teaching a class in butchering, the first in the United States; became head of Animal Husbandry; organized a new Department of Agronomy and Farm Management and built it up to one of the best in the United States. Published several books on Farm Management; helped reorganize Bureau of Agricultural Economics at Washington D.C.; became Vice-Director of the Experiment Station; president of the St. Anthony Park State Bank, director of Federal Land Bank, Deacon of Congregational Church, Sunday School teacher. It is an honor to have known Mr. Boss."
During Herman Peterson's work at the Waseca County Historical Society, he collected portraits and biographies of many friends and Waseca area businessmen and professionals.
