Dr. George Olds. 5" x 6 1/2" black and white photograph of Captain George H. Olds; "born in Minneapolis. When a young boy the family moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he attended grade school and in 1922 graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School. He attended Macalester College from 1922 to 1926. He attended the University of Minnesota from 1926 to 1935 graduating from the Medical School in 1935. He came to Waseca in 1938 where he practiced medicine until he entered the service in 1942. Since 1943 Captain Olds has served overseas; first in Italy, then North Africa, France, and Corsica. He is now located in Italy with the Aviation Engineers. He is a member of the local Methodist Church and also belongs to the Waseca Lions Club. He was very active in the Boy Scout movement and took a great deal of interest in the Waseca Troop. I consider George as one of my best friends and my sincere hope and prayer is that he will soon safely return to his family who reside here. Best of luck. 2-9-45"
During Herman Peterson's work at the Waseca County Historical Society, he collected portraits and biographies of many friends and Waseca area businessmen and professionals. After Dr. Olds returned from WWII, he became a family doctor in New Richland where he spent the rest of his professional life.
