Andrus R. Downie. 4 1/2" x 3 7/8" black and white photograph; Andrus R. Downie, also called Andy Downie, "born in Scotland, arrived in America in 1927; coming directly to Waseca, he entered the 8th grade of the Waseca Public Schools in the Fall of 1927. He graduated from high school in the class of 1932, being Salutatorian of the class. He entered the University of Minnesota and graduated from the School of Agriculture. he is now in the employ of U.S.D.A. as a Pathologist engaged in sugar beet investigation. It just demonstrates what opportunities there are in America. American born or otherwise all you need is the right stuff in you. He is a Waseca Eagle Scout and a member of Waseca Aquilla Club. Married to Ruth Karsten, they have a girl and a boy. They reside in St. Paul, Minn. Andy is one swell fellow, and the best of luck to you."
