A. F. Sponberg. 3 1/8" x 4 1/2" black and white photograph; A. F. Sponberg, "one of Waseca County's best known men, was born on a farm in Otisco Township. When he was a young man, his father died, leaving his mother alone with several small children. When Fred grew to manhood, he took over the old homestead which he still owns, and he resided there until a few years ago when he moved to New Richland. He married Hulda Peterson in 1902. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College; four of his children have also graduated from this college. He is now serving his third term as County Commissioner from the First District. He has always taken a keen interest in school, township, community, county and church affairs. He has served on many of the committees and boards. Some time ago, the honor of a "Master Farmer" was bestowed upon him. 12/12/43"
During Herman Peterson's work at the Waseca County Historical Society, he collected portraits and biographies of many friends and Waseca area businessmen and professionals.
