Embert and Kjersti (Kristi) Hartz came from the Sigdal area of Norway and settled near Manchester, Minnesota (Freeborn County) ca. 1880. Their daughter, Inger married a Waseca County man, Andrew D. Johnson (an immigrant from West Toten, Norway) and farmed all their lives in New Richland Township.
