David Hoversten in Navy Uniform. 2 3/8" x 4 1/8" black and white photograph of David Hoversten, son of George and Martha Hoversten, shown wearing his U. S. Navy uniform (in WCHS collection) in Minneapolis; b. June 1923, he and brother Bill served in World War II; Bill was killed in the war, David named his firstborn son after him; David worked as a baker in the Navy, later attending Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis; he and wife, Pearl, opened the Janesville Maid Bakery in Janesville, Minn.; David also served as a Janesville volunteer fireman.
