Nurses Uniform Dress. Material: textile, shell, metal. Size: 15" W. (shoulder to shoulder) x 43" L. Description: white nylon, calf length, v-neckline with small pointed notched collar; front closure from neckline to hemline with ten round white buttons; short cuffed sleeves; bodice pleated to 2 1/2" W.; set-in waistband; one upper left breast pocket, one patch pocket on each side of upper front skirt. Uniform consists of dress (58.03 a), cap (58.03 b), five pins pinned to breast pocket (58.03 c-g) and handkerchief in breast pocket (58.03 h).
Worn by Alice Eastvold Erickson between the years 1942-1953. Her mother, Millie Eastvold of Borup, Minnesota made all her uniforms. Alice was born in Montrose, South Dakota, July 19, 1912, raised in Borup, and died August 26, 2003 in New Richland. After working as a nurse aide in Ada, Minn., Alice passed her state boards and worked at St. John's Lutheran Hospital in St. Paul until 1953. Alice was married to Oluf Erickson of Hartland, Minnesota in 1953. In 1968, they moved to New Richland. Oluf passed away March 4, 1999. Both obituaries were printed in the New Richland Star.
