Wedding Suit of D. E. Perrin. (a) Jacket. Material: textile, metal. Size: 17" W. x 35" L. Description: dark green wool jacket with notched lapels and long sleeves that have one button on each cuff; front closure with three fabric covered metal buttons and buttonholes; back vent trimmed with two buttons at vent top; two inside slit pockets. (b) Vest. Material: textile, metal. Size: 17" W. x 22 1/2" L. Description: dark green wool front, sleeveless, V-neckline; front closure with five fabric covered metal buttons and buttonholes; two slit pockets on each side; cream, green patterned cotton lining; green silk back with metal buckle for adjustment on back waistline.
Man's suit - worn by Mr. D.E. Perrin when he married Emma Bierman 29 November 1901. Bierman Collection: Bernie Bierman was a football coach at the University of Minnesota for the Golden Gophers. Bernie Bierman was the grandson of a Waseca County pioneer, Heinrich F. Bierman. In 1855, Heinrich made a claim in sections 13, in Wilton and 18 in Otisco where he lived until December 22, 1882, when he was accidentally killed by a fall from a wagon. His wife and five children lived in Waseca after his death. Luella and Marguerite Herbst are the granddaughters of Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Bierman, and the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Herbst. Mrs. Herbst was Elizabeth Bierman. They also donated items from Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Perrin. Mrs. Perrin was Emma Bierman.
