New Richland Knute Hagen Farmstead. 11 1/2" x 19 1/2" hand-tinted, black and white photograph of the Hagen Century Farm located in the southeast corner, section 36 of New Richland township, Waseca County, Minnesota. Unique interior silo was built into the south end (left side picture) of the barn.
Century Farm located in Section 36 of New Richland Township, owned in 2003 by Randy [b.1956] and Laura (Gallagher) Hagen [b.1963]. Original owners, Knute O. [b. 1851, d. 1914] and Marit Hagen [b. 1859, d. 1932]; second owners, Knute C. [b. 1872, d.1952] and Gustine Hagen [b.1873, d.1963]; third owners: Lawrence [b. 1904, d. 1961] and Evelyn (Strand) Hagen [b. 1908, d. 1994]; fourth owners, Eugene [b.1932] and Phyllis (Hanson) Hagen [b.1935]. This was the only farm place where Knute O. Hagen ever lived. Knute O. Hagen was one of the organizers of the LeSueur River Norwegian Lutheran Church east of New Richland; and he was in the first adult confirmation class. His son, Knute C. Hagen built the barn in 1904; and the house was built in 1906.
