(a) jacket, (b) skirt. Material: textile, metal and celluloid. Size: (a) 22" shoulder to shoulder x 22" long. (b) 50" W. bottom x 41 1/2" L. Description: (a) jacket - dark jade green serge-like fabric lined with a lighter weight brown fabric - long leg-o-mutton sleeves - high, stand-up collar secured with snaps - ten-button front closure (7 buttons missing) - lapel on right side turns back onto jacket - cut to fit closely to the waist and flair slightly over hips - stiff stays are sewn into inside seams around the midriff - jacket hem comes to points in mid-front and mid-back - sleeve edges, lapel and collar all trimmed in brown velvet - a band of brocade ribbon also trims the lapel and sleeve edges. Description: (b) skirt - dark jade green, serge-like - floor length - fabric lined with a lighter weight brown fabric - brown velvet pleat inserted at center front of the light brown waistband widens gradually to 6 3/4" at hemline - brown brocade ribbon trims the seam of the skirt along both sides of the pleat from waist to hemline and continues around the circumference of the skirt - left closure placket with series of hooks and eyes at waistband and down the placket all hidden within a deep pleat - two short strips of black fabric tape are sewn inside waistband at front and back to provide a way to hook jacket and skirt together.
