Military Eisenhower Jacket. Material: textile, metal. (a) Jacket. Size: 22 1/2" W. (Size 40 S) x 33" L. Description: olive green wool - waist length "Eisenhower style" - V-neckline - small notched collar forms small, high lapels - front closure with buttons - long sleeves - left shoulder patch displays gold, red and blue triangles (one inside the other) - lower left sleeve displays a gold chevron - right sleeve displays one gold chevron stripe. (b) Pants. Material: textile. Size: 17 1/2" W. x 40 1/2" L. Description: olive green wool.
(28.02.2a deaccessioned 3-15-06)Mr. Guentzel who lived in Alton Township, Janesville was drafted on June 13, 1957, trained at Ft. Polk, Louisiana and attended service school at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Korean War. This was the standard uniform issued in 1957 featuring the "Eisenhower" style jacket. The sleeve patch represents "7th Army" which was created in 194, African campaign; "Born at Sea" (Atlantic); bathed in blood, and crowned in glory designated by blue, gold, and red.
