Street Brick Laying on Lake Avenue, Waseca. Material: paper. Size: 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". Description: black and white postcard photograph of the "Brick Laying Crew on Lake Ave." Waseca, Minn.; photo shows 19 workmen laying the new brick road on what used to be called Lake Avenue, between the EACO Mill and the E. A. Everett mansion at 9th Street N.E. and Lake Avenue, just off East Elm Avenue; also visible is a little girl sitting in a wagon on right; a bicycle parked next to the tree in the front yard on the right; and a team of horses in the distance behind the row of men; new bricks are piled on both sides of the street; see album page 17. Everett Residence, Everett House, Everett Home located at 206 9th Street N.E. on the corner of 9th Street N.E. and Lake Avenue now 3rd Avenue N.E.
Album cover and binding in poor condition; photographs and postcards in excellent condition; many color lithographed postcards; black and white photo postcards are in excellent condition. Only Waseca photographs scanned into collection and start with Accession 27.89.15; donor, Anne Olson, bought the Hawkes home at 607 N. State St., Waseca, and found this album in the home. Hannah Hawkes was the sister of Charlie Hawkes. Hannah worked as the secretary to E. A. Everett at the EACO Mill. Lake Avenue became 3rd Avenue April 1928.
