Everetts and Aughenbaugh and Group Fishing from Clear Lake Dock. 4 1/4" x 3 3/8" black and white photograph of a large group of people fishing, posed all lined up on a dock at Clear Lake; a few boats nearby; most are holding a bamboo fishing pole vertically for the photograph; a few can be identified: J. W. Aughenbaugh, 2nd from right; E. A. Everett or G. W. Everett, 6th from right; and William R. Everett, 10th from right; similar photographs of this event were found (and dated) in an album belonging to Hannah Hawkes, see Accession 27.89.12
The donor is the great-grandson of William Everett, co-founder with Aughenbaugh, of the E. A. Co Mill in Waseca County. The Everett home, built by William's son Edward Everett, overlooking the east end of Clear Lake, was a showplace in its time, a classic Victorian-style home, it was demolished in 1958 it was an architectural and historical loss to Waseca County. This collection of photographs from Willard Everett is donated under our "Loaned to Us" program, where the donor allows WCHS to scan the images, but donor keeps possession of the original photographs.
