Tiling Crew in Field. Black and white image of a group of 11 farm workers who are tiling a field; near New Richland, Minn.; circa 1915; these men were friends and fellow workers of the donor's grandfather, Anders Peder Andersen, who spent time in Waseca and New Richland working, but later returned to Denmark December 1919; pictured are men wearing bib overalls, hats and working with pitchforks, standing along a trench with sections of clay tile being readied to bury in the trench; third person from left is Anders Peder Andersen. (Anders Peder Andersen was born April 25, 1884 in Noerreby, Klinte parish on the island Funen in Denmark. His parents were Rasmus Andersen Skjellund and Kirsten Emilie Pedersen. Anders came to the America at age 28 to learn farming methods. He spent 7 years between 1912 and 1919 in Waseca County, some time in Minneapolis, Albert Lea, St. Ansgar, IA and Milwaukee, WI. He joined the Danish-American Brotherhood while in the United States.)
