Phelps Family Italianate House. Phelps Residence. 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" black and white photograph of the Phelps house, a large, two-story brick Victorian home in the Italianate style, with round-arched windows with working shutters, carved wood corbels --roofline details; a banner flies from the very top of the house, which is also decorated with bunting and small flags in the yard for an Independence Day celebration. There is an ornate wrought-iron railing defining the roofline. Two women dressed in white stand near the front entrance. The house stood on County Rd. 2, now Brown Avenue off Highway 14 west of Waseca. It was vacant for years and finally razed in the 1990s.
