Maplewood Park Pavilion. 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" black and white photograph of the Maplewood Park open-air pavilion built for the Chautauqua meetings in the 1880s and 1890s. This is a scene in wintertime; the picnic tables are stacked for winter storage; a group of four women, one man and a child are standing on the edge of the shelter, likely ancestors of the album donor, Warren Gray. The pavilion was designed in a Greek or Roman temple design with square columns, however, supporting the structure on all sides.
Belonged to donor's family. Waseca was one of the most active Chautauqua sites in Minnesota.
