Waseca 2nd Avenue (Wood Avenue), East View. Material: paper. Size: 4 3/4" x 3 3/4". Description: black and white photograph of 2nd Avenue N.W. looking east, formerly Wood Avenue; a summer view from EACO Flour Mill; visible is the Waseca County courthouse, the Sheriff's residence / Sheriff's Office and jail, Waseca County Jail; the converted house that stood west of the Waseca County Courthouse; the former jail house was torn down in 1971 and the Grant House hotel. Lake Avenue was the first paved street in Waseca, and led to the Everett residence at 9th Street N.E. Sheriff's residence and jail.
Belonged to donor's family. Lake Avenue became 3rd Avenue April 1928. Wood Avenue or Wood Street became 2nd Avenue April 1928.
