Pioneer Martha Sorenson and her Log Cabin. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" black and white photograph postcard of Waseca County pioneer resident Martha Sorenson standing outside her log cabin built in 1859, located near New Richland, Minn.
This cabin was built on land that Martha and her husband Johannes squatted on before purchasing it in 1861, located in New Richland Township across from the LeSueur River Lutheran Church. It was built from red oak lumber grown on their land. The cabin also had a big glass, shuttered window.
