G. W. Strong Portrait. 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" black and white oval portrait of G. W. Strong; married to Jennie Aughenbaugh (on February 8, 1898) who was the daughter of J. Aughenbaugh, a partner in the EACO Flour Mill. Strong and his wife lived in the house west of the Aughenbaugh's. He worked at the mill from 1897. G. W. Strong was the son of Nathan E. Strong and Sarah Ide, Waseca early settlers who moved to California in 1885. G. W. and Jennie were the parents of Harry Strong who eventually followed his father into the milling business. The donor is the great-grandson of William Everett, co-founder with Aughenbaugh, of the E. A. Co Mill in Waseca County. The Everett home, built by William's son Edward Everett, overlooking the east end of Clear Lake, was a showplace in its time, a classic Victorian-style home, it was demolished in 1958 it was an architectural and historical loss to Waseca County.
