George Washington Bicentennial Souvenir Plate. Material: glass. Size: 8 1/4" diameter. Description: light blue frosted glass plate with center raised scene: General Washington kneeling in prayer at Valley Forge encampment, raised printing at top: "1776-1976" and at bottom: "In God we trust; raised leaf and berry plate edging pattern; reverse side plate: "Issued January 1, 1976. Number Three In A Series of Four Official United States Of America Bicentennial Commemorative Project Of The General Federation Of Women's Clubs. Once declared, Independence had yet to be won. At Valley Forge during the bitter cold winter of 1777 and 1778, General George Washington and his troops placed their trust in their Creator, then successfully pitted their courage against seemingly overwhelming odds"; plate manufacturer logo: encircled "Fenton".
