Description: black and white photograph from the July 4, 1942 parade down State Street in Waseca, showing Lyle Rutledge's car decorated for promoting war bonds. Photo was taken at the corner of South State Street and 5th Avenue S.E. (Lyle Rutledge was the county bond drive chairman, receiving many awards for his war bond drive efforts from the U.S. Treasury Department.) There is a band behind the car and several young people.
A collection of 20 black and white photographs of the July 4 parades in 1941 and 1942. This parade event also celebrated "Overalls Day" as pairs of overalls can be seen hanging over the street in several of these photos. Photos were taken by Lyle Rutledge, of Waseca Mutual, and father of Jerry Rutledge.
