Christian Neidt Residence. 2nd Street N.E., Waseca. Material: paper. Size: 8 1/2" x 6 7/8". Description: black and white photograph of the Christian Neidt home that stood on 2nd Street N.E.; pictured: two-story white clapboard home, shuttered windows, small second story porch over front entry, and a fenced-in yard. Identified L-R: Christian Neidt, standing with his son, Albert (donor's father), in his arms; older daughter, Emma; Mrs. Christian Neidt (Josephine Burger Neidt); younger daughter, Louise, is standing on the porch steps; and Josephine's mother (name unknown). Building on right is thought to be the earliest church built in Waseca, in the 1860s by Ira Trowbridge. In 1904 a foundation level was built and the church building raised to become the Waseca Odd Fellows Hall, I.O.O.F. or IOOF. (This may be the only image of that first church building.) Location also listed as 3rd Avenue N.E. at 3rd Street N.E.
