Notation on donor card: First blacksmith shop in Waseca County. Built in 1856. Wilton business: Norton Blacksmith. The first blacksmith shop in Waseca County was built in Wilton in 1856 by H.P. Norton of Yates County, New York. H.P. worked across the country at his trade, finally locating in Wilton.
