Dresden E. Perrin. 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" black and white photograph of a man in uniform holding a musical instrument identified as Dresden E. Perrin, longtime leader of Waseca bands, owner and partner of the Brisbane and Perrin Music store from 1914 to 1929; also was elected Waseca County Auditor in 1929 and closed the music store; eventually opened again in 1930 as Perrin Music and operated until 1952 when he sold the store to Joe and Ruth Kozan; married to Emma Bierman Perrin; died June 8, 1959 in Pasadena, CA at the age of 85. Perrin had a very unique mustache.
Notation on back: Professional coronet musician with B & B Circus. Liked Waseca so much he settled down here, [band] director for many years until about 1930. Bierman Collection: Bernie Bierman was a football coach at the University of Minnesota for the Golden Gophers. Bernie Bierman was the grandson of a Waseca County pioneer, Heinrich F. Bierman. In 1855, Heinrich made a claim in sections 13, in Wilton and 18 in Otisco where he lived until December 22, 1882, when he was accidentally killed by a fall from a wagon. His wife and five children lived in Waseca after his death. Luella and Marguerite Herbst are the granddaughters of Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Bierman, and the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Herbst. Mrs. Herbst was Elizabeth Bierman. They also donated items from Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Perrin. Mrs. Perrin was Emma Bierman.
