New Richland Golden Jubilee Crowd. 5-1/2" x 3-3/8" black and white photograph shows New Richland citizens of 1927; the oldest people dressed in vintage clothing; the celebretory event of the day was the ride on the M &St. L train into the village from a few miles north; Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad sponsored the celebration because the community was established 1877 at this point on their line; more than 60 celebrities stepped off "Pioneer Train" and walked a platform (center right) across to what was then known as St. Louis Park behind City Hall; and here is where the rail company took this official photograph beside the mock-up store fronts; those identified: Erick Brisbane, Waseca, and Mr. and Mrs. Winegar.
