Description: brown textured leather over cardboard - rounded corners - domed top - light blue silk lining stamped: "Ja_gens & Andersen Co., N.E. corner State & Madison, Chicago". (c) Case bottom. Material: paper, leather, textile. Size: 2 3/8" W. x 3 1/2" L. x 1/2" H. Description: same construction as case top - lining extends above box edge - lined hook for attaching medal (#468a).

Waseca County Creameries. Dairy. Buttermaking. Dairy medal won by Samuel Hawks (Hawkes) at the North Star State Fair, 1895. Presented by the Minnesota State Dairy Association. Donor was Carolyn Hawkes, grandaughter of Charles Hawkes. Samuel & Charles were brothers.
