Material: wood, metal. Size: 6" W. x 15" L. x 3 7/8" H. Color and description: dark, finished wood - rectangular box - open front tapers upward - metal hinged lid over top half - turned wooden handle extends from center back - circular hole cut through partition between open bin and lidded section - small cupped projection under hole to guide voting ball through opening - handwritten on back: "Presented to Schaumkessel Auxiliary U.S.W.V. May 20th 1918 by George W. Eastman and wife Eda M. Eastman".
Waseca County Military - Spanish American War. United Spanish War Veterans Auxiliary. Women. Voting was done by inserting either a black or white ball through opening in ballot box.
