Anna Schroeder Steinke Ivory Silk Floor Length Dress. Material: textile, metal, bone. Set includes skirt, waist, belt, collar. (a) Skirt. Size: 13" W. at waistline x 36 1/2" L. Description: cream colored silk skirt with cream embroidered pattern throughout, eight gores cut longer in back with three flounces around the bottom edge, extra fullness inserted at center back skirt for train, cream colored lace over front seams. (b) Waist. Size: 20 1/2" W. across bodice x 19" L. Description: cream colored silk with embroidered net bodice overlay, wide flounce ruffle extends over shoulders and around the back; long leg-o-mutton sleeves with wrist ruffles, hook and eye closure down center back. (c) Belt. Size: 4" W. x 26 1/2" L. Description: cream colored silk sash, one bone stay in center near hook and eye closure. (d) Collar. Size:2" W. x 13 1/2" L. Description: cream colored silk with net overlay, hook and eye closure. 81.98.5 Veil. Material: textile. Size: 74" W. x 119" L. (excluding cap); cap: 9" W. at neckline x 11" L. Description: off-white net veil with lace trim on three sides attached to cap - cap: net covered with lace - white and off-white seed bead trim on cap - yellow wax and paper flowers on each cap side.
Wedding gown and veil of Hannah Schroeder. She married Frank Stienke on 21 September 1904 in Freedom Township. Donor is her granddaughter.
