World War I Army Uniform Leggings. Material: textile, metal. (a) Left legging. Size: 8 1/4" W. x 16 1/4" L. (excluding strap). Description: khaki heavy canvas ankle and lower leg covering; metal buckled brown strap fits over foot instep, twelve metal eyelets on inside leg, eleven brown metal hooks on other side hook onto brown shoe lace threaded through the eyelets, top and bottom eyelets secure lacing string, same as #8436i (right legging); stamped in black inside: "Aug 20 1918" and "No. 2"; black handwritten accession number on outside.
