World War II Navy Uniform of George Maidl. Material: textile, plastic. Size: 18 1/2" W. across shoulders x 25" L. x 25" L. sleeves. Description: navy blue wool pullover shirt with a v-neckline; sailor style collar rolls over shoulders to a 9" L. back collar edged with three rows of white braid and a white star in each of the back corners; long sleeves with closure at cuffs with two black plastic buttons stamped with the anchor insignia (enlisted man's buttons); three white stripes encircle each cuff; right shoulder sleeve has one navy blue diamond shaped patch displaying a gold eagle and ring (discharge insignia); navy blue patch on left sleeve displays three red chevrons under a white eagle (Petty Officer 1st Class or Boatswain's Mate, E-6) with a white "instrumentationman's tool" insignia in the center; one left slash-type breast pocket; label under collar: "Maidl" in handwriting.
