Spanish-American War uniform. Material: textile, metal. Size: 34" W. waistline x 31" L. inseam. Description: blue wool - natural cotton lining in waistband, pockets and placket - front closure with five gold tone riveted buttons in a front fly placket - six gold tone buttons and four belt loops attached around waistband - one pocket on each side - one pocket at right hip - one coin/watch fob pocket below right front waistband - 1 1/2" W. white wool vertical stripe extends from waistline to hemline on each side pant leg - patches and repairs in various areas of the pants. (Part of uniform ensemble: overcoat (#1157a); cape (#1157b); and blouse (#676a).
Waseca County Military - Spanish American War. Worn by Herman Nigg who enlisted in May 1898 and was stationed at Chicamagua Park, Tenn., where he served for the duration of the war. He was a member of the company that was sent to Walker.
