Spanish-American War Uniform. Material: textile, metal. Size: 18 3/4" W. x 31" L. x 26" L. sleeves. Description: Blue wool blouse with black cotton bodice lining; natural cotton sleeve lining; high round neckline; rounded collar; front closure extends from neckline down to below waistline with five gold tone shank buttons imprinted with the Army crest and two hooks and eyes - long sleeves - cuffs trimmed with three metal buttons similar to jacket closure ;one inside breast pocket on each side. (Part of uniform ensemble: overcoat (#1157a); cape (#1157b); and pants (#676b).
Waseca County Military - Spanish American War. Worn by Herman Nigg who enlisted in May 1898 and was stationed at Chicamagua Park, Tenn., where he served for the duration of the war. He was a member of the company that was sent to Walker.
