World War I Army Uniform Pants. Material: textile, metal, celluloid. Size: 17 1/2" W. x 26" L. inseam. Description: olive green wool with waistband and pockets lined with khaki cotton, front closure with four buttons in a fly placket, brown celluloid top button; three lower silver colored buttons inscribed: "U.S. ARMY"; six waistband belt loops;one pocket at each backside close with a single button flap; one pocket on each side; one coin pocket below right front waistband; jodhpur style pants extend from waistline to just below knee line with double layer reinforced fabric at inside knee area, pant leg closure on each side at calf level with eight brown celluloid buttons, pant leg hems finished with olive green seam binding.
Waseca County Military - WW I. A note found in left breast pocket of jacket states: "WW I Uniform Fred Rietfort". Private, 1st Class John F. Rietfort entered service on September 17, 1917 arriving in France in July 1918 with the Motor Supply Service. Jacket is part of uniform #1.98.397 and 1.98.398. Moth damage.
