PLACEHOLDER Jacket. Material: textile and metal. Size: 17 1/2" W. across shoulders x 30" L. x 25" L. sleeves. Description: olive green wool - black cotton lining inside jacket - khaki cotton lining inside sleeves - high round neckline with stand-up collar closes with two large hooks and eyes - front closure from neckline to hemline with five gold tone buttons painted black and imprinted with the Army crest - long sleeves - shoulder epaulet straps close with one button - one red chevron on left shoulder sleeve (indicates rank of Private) - one breast pocket on each side closes with a single button and flap - one large front pocket on eash side at waistline with flap and button closure - part of U.S. Army Uniform, #8148 a,b (blouse & pants).
Waseca County Military - WW I. Found with other articles donated by the Howard Deichen Estate donated in August 1976 and it is assumed that this jacket is part of the same donation.
