Spanish-American War. Material: textile, metal. Size: 96 1/2" W. around bottom edge) x 26 1/2" L. Description: blue wool - black wool lining - closure with seven metal buttons - each button stamped: "E'Toile Du Nord Minnesota" and the Minnesota state seal - beneath seal: "Henderson Ames Co. Kalamazoo Mich" - seven large metal hooks around inside neckline for attaching to overcoat - gold lettering on black label inside back neckline: "The Henderson Ames Co. Kalamazoo, Mich. Military and Society Goods". Other items in this uniform ensemble include an overcoat (#1157a), a blouse (#676a) and pants (#676b).
Waseca County Military - Spanish American War. Worn by Herman Nigg. He enlisted in May 1898 and was stationed at Chicamagua Park, Tenn., where he served for the duration of the war. He was a member of the company that was sent to Walker.
