James Gutknecht World War II Army Uniform "Ike" Jacket. Material: textile, metal, plastic. Size: 19" W. across shoulders x 24" L. x 23 1/2" L. sleeves. Description: green wool jacket with green cotton lining; waist length "Ike" style; front closure with five hidden olive green plastic buttons and one snap; horizontal shoulder epaulet straps close with one button; one pleated breast pocket on each side close with hidden button and two snaps; two inside lining breast pockets; triangular patch on on upper left sleeve with a blue, red and yellow background; black embroidered "5" and tank tread graphic under a red lightning bolt (5th Armored Tank Division); green diamond shaped patch above right breast pocket displays a gold eagle in a gold ring (Discharge Insignia); green square patch on right sleeve near cuff displays a gold wreath (Meritorious Service); black handwritten identification near collar inside: "Gutknecht 8632"; labeled: "38S".
