Blue Cotton Gown. Material: textile and metal. (a) Size: 15" W. at shoulders x 53 1/2" L. x 15" L. sleeves. Description: light-blue, fine cotton, gold velvet trim, black velvet ribbon, ecru crochet lace trim; fabric pattern throughout of vertical embroidery; back closure of 5 sets of hooks & eyes; neckline edged with net cording over a crocheted border featuring several velvet-backed medallions, interwoven in thin black velvet ribbon tied in scattered bows; set-in ruffled sleeve edges and skirt overlays feature the same trim as the bodice, each skirt trim overlay ends with a large medallion that hangs over the bottom edge flounce, skirt is finished at the bottom with 4 rows of ruffles, cotton net underskirt finished with a double ruffle.(b) belt, Material: textile, metal. Size: 26" L. Description: light blue silk on front, gold velvet on back; three hooks and eyes on front of belt, back has velvet ribbon lace up.
Discrepancy - Registry book reads "From Cally's trousseau, June 15, 1898." Registry card reads "'Evening dress belonging to Hetty's trousseau 1898." From the Guy Everett estate.
