Description: brown varnished wood; black chin rest attached with two metal screws; black fingerboard and tail piece; unfinished wooden bridge; black pegs; paper label inside f-hole : "Antonius Stradivarius Cremonenfis, Faciebat Anno 1735, Made in Germany" and a mark: "A+S"; E string is metal; A, D, G strings are gut. Set with 88.83.1-5.
Charles Stankey’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Stankey gave this violin to Charles for his 16th birthday. Charles played in an orchestra around the county at barn dances and other dances. Donated by Audrey Sutlief daughter of Charles Stankey, for Charles and Elsie Stankey.
