Men's Knickers. Material: textile, metal, shell. Size: 33 1/2" W. x 36 1/2" L. Description: maroon and tan herringbone weave wool; front closure with five tan buttons; 5 pockets, one on left near side seam, two back pockets (left one has a single button closure), one on right near side seam; one coin pocket on right in waistband seam; fabric on pant leg gathered into leg band, closure with a silver colored metal buckle and a single tan button.
Men's - Worn by Herbert Hatle, brother of donor. He died a soldier during WWII in North Africa. Clara O. Johnson married Gerhardt O. Hatle (parents of donor) in the early 1910s. They had 10 children; Orvin, Clair, Evelyn, Wesley, Herbert, Elaine, Edith, Avis, Rebecca
