Baptismal Bonnet. Material: textile. Size: 5 1/2" W x 6 1/2" L. Description: white cotton; hand-crocheted; five pointed star medallion of filet lace at back of head with 19 rows of crocheting radiating from it; scalloped edging.
Made by Mattie McGrath Williamson (aunt of donor) in 1899. Gown #72.85.1, Petticoats #72.85.2, #72.85.3, bootees #72.85.5 were all made to go with gown. Donor and her brothers and sisters were baptized in the outfit.
