Erick and Martha Fretham. 20" x 15 7/8" charcoal and chalk portrait on cardboard of a couple; a man with dark hair parted on left, oval wire rim glasses, gray goatee, dark suit & tie, white shirt; woman with dark hair parted down middle, dark dress with 3 buttons & frog clasp at neck, white stand-up collar; signed by Holmberg & Holmberg, 1897; identified on back in pencil as Erick and Martha Fretham.
Erick and Martha Fretham are the parents of L.L. Fretham & the grandparents of Ed Fretham. Erick Fretham had a team of oxen stolen from his farm in Iosco Twp. Through the able assistance of the Horse Thief Association, the oxen were recovered in Renville County.
