U.S. Navy Nurse Hat. #3250 a,b,c,d,e. Material: textile. Size: 8 1/2" W. x 10 1/2" L. x 4 1/2" H. Description: black wool officer's hat - black brim turned up on sides and downward front and back - black wool hatband - Navy crest pinned to hat front - black and white canvas crown - black satin lining - black grosgrain inside hatband - white inside label lettered in black: "Knox New York" covered with clear plastic - back inside label on sweatband: "Women's Service, Size 22. Name: Florence Scholljegerdes Rate Lt NC USN."

Used by Lt. Florence Scholljegerdes, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Scholljegerdes. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, 10 Dec 1943, as an ensign. At the time of her gift of uniforms to WCHS, she held the rank of Commander U.S.N.R. (1971). Double numbered 1.82.7a
