Description: tinted raised floral pattern over gold watch covers; one side opens to display clock face stamped: Elgin; facing clock: photo of mustached, dark haired man wearing high collar, bow tie and dark jacket who appears to be D. Bierman Collection: Bernie Bierman, grandson of Waseca pioneer Heinrich F. Bierman was a football coach at the University of Minnesota for the Golden Gophers. In 1855, Heinrich made a claim in Wilton Township, sections 13, and in Otisco Township, section 18 where he lived until December 22, 1882, when he was accidentally killed by a fall from a wagon. His wife and five children lived in Waseca after his death. Donors, Luella and Marguerite Herbst are the granddaughters of Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Bierman, and the daughters of Adolph and Elizabeth Bierman Herbst. The Herbst sisters also donated items from D. E. and Emma Bierman Perrin
