Accession book says # 16 is a pistol barrel found in the Janesville Argus. This ornament was in use on the old W.G. Ward farm in 1919. It was then rusted and weather beaten. A guess might put its manufacture back to 1880. An old timer thought he remembered seeing the ornament at Mr. Ward's carriage house in town. George Engel polished and painted the head about 1930.
