Martha Marie Hogaas Sunde Wedding Gown. Tan Silk Two-Piece Floor-Length with Blue Accents. Material: textile. Two piece dress suit. (a) Waist. Size: 14" W. across bodice x 23" L. Description: tan silk jacket; front vertical closure with ivy-patterned buttons; small stand up collar; bodice back tapers over hipline into tails; blue-trimmed, long, loose sleeves. (b) Skirt. Size: 13" W. at waist x 40" L. Description: tan silk floor length trimmed with two blue v-shaped ribbons bands; ruffle around hemline extends to skirt back. (The entire waist and skirt are falling apart. It was very challenging to button the buttons on waist for the photograph taken 26 March 2018.)
Worn by Martha Marie Hogaas on her wedding day July 7, 1881 when she married Sam O. Sunde at the LeSueur Lutheran Church east of New Richland. Donor is a daughter of Sam and Marie Sunde. Gloves 4732 go with gown. See photograph 39.13.2.
