Click Reel. Material: wood. Size: 6" W. x 21" L. Description: rough pine components of a reel, a handle and two gears; also called a "click" reel or a "clock" reel to measure weaving material such as rags for rug weaving or yarn for spinning.
Made by Alexander Johnson and used by Mrs. Johnson for weaving rugs. 100 turns of handle will result in a "click" denoting 50 yards have been wound on the reel, also used to stretch the yarn after spinning.
