The Methodist Church Commemorative Plate. Material: ceramic. Size: 10 1/2" diameter. Description: white porcelain plate, sepia graphics and print, gold rim; black print on reverse; 1 1/2" W. white raised relief border of daisies around plate edge, center graphics: old church building above new church building captioned: "Evangelical United Methodist Church, Waseca, Minnesota, 125th Anniversary"; reverse side black stamped: church history: "The church was begun in the fall of 1862 at Wilton when Rev. E.H. Bauman from the New Ulm Mission visited and preached. A church was built in Waseca in 1875. Pastors of the Waseca Circuit preached at Meriden, Iosco, and Blooming Grove. Iosco's church was built in 1880 and Meriden's in 1882. All of these churches eventually merged to become Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church. In 1960 the present church building was dedicated. In 1968 we merged with the Methodist Church to become Evangelical United Methodist Church" - maker's mark: "World Wide Art Studios, Covington, Tenn. 38019".
