Elgin Pocket Railroad Watch. Material: metal, glass. Size: 2 1/8" diameter x 9/16" D. Description: gold circular pocket watch, glass cover over white face with large Arabic numerals and a small inset second dial and the maker's name: Elgin; steel backing; brass winding stem at top; engraved on plates of mechanism: "Veritas, 11614729, 21 jewels"; gold colored flat link chain fobbed at each end.
Railroad watch bought second hand in 1943 from Ed McLoone (owned McLoone's Bar at 108 S. State, Waseca), who got it from an agent in Eagle Lake. McLoone loaned money on the watch valued at $189.00 (appraised 1960's). Jim Reycraft began as a section man.
