Note with scarf: "This scarf belonged to Mr. B. F. Lewis and was worn by him during cold weather. Worn during the 1880s. Crocheted by Mary Eaton Lewis, his wife, parent of Esther Everett and Billy Everett." (Scarf looks much newer than 1880s.)
