Orange Bib Apron. Full Apron. Material: textile. Size: 27 1/2" W. x 36" L. Description: orange organdy all-in-one apron with a front panel, circular side panels below waistline, bib with wide shoulder straps, square back yoke and 27" L. side sashes for tying in back; three horizontal rows of white tape extend across front pane at top and bottom and back yoke; tops of side panels have eight rows of shirring; front panel embroidered with a full-skirted woman standing under a black, be-flowered trellis in a long blue dress with various colored lazy-daisy flowers overall.
All articles #4500 thru #4605 were donated and shipped freight paid by the sisters from Pasadena, California. Explanatory notes will be found with the specific items. Bierman Collection: Bernie Bierman was a football coach at the University of Minnesota for the Golden Gophers. Bernie Bierman was the grandson of a Waseca County pioneer, Heinrich F. Bierman. In 1855, Heinrich made a claim in sections 13, in Wilton and 18 in Otisco where he lived until December 22, 1882, when he was accidentally killed by a fall from a wagon. His wife and five children lived in Waseca after his death. Luella and Marguerite Herbst are the granddaughters of Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Bierman, and the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Herbst. Mrs. Herbst was Elizabeth Bierman. They also donated items from Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Perrin. Mrs. Perrin was Emma Bierman.
